For a Canadian civilian, there is no higher honour than the Order of Canada.
It was a great honor for Dr. Gardner to nominate two recipients:
- Dr. Norman Levine – Recipient of the Order of Canada for championing the cause of Dentistry for those Canadians most in need
- And Dr. George Zarb – Recipient of Order of Canada for introducing Dental implants to North America 35 years ago
- Fun Fact: Only 5 Dentists have been bestowed this honor to date. Our heartfelt congratulations to our colleagues and their families.

Giving Back: Scholarships & Support for Emerging Dentists
- The Dr. Edward G. Sonely Book Awards was established by Dr. Gardner in honour of Dr. Sonley.
- It is awarded to the most outstanding 4th year student in the subject of Clinical Restorative Dentistry.
